Deep ruby color with a nose of ripe red fruits. Not overpowering with a long finish of cherries and caramel corn. Outstanding compliment to a wonderful meal of herb crusted Brie, filet mignon, rosemary and sea salt sourdough, and brussel sprouts. It may have peaked some time back, but a nice treat after a long week.

Drank over 5 hours. Fruity, smooth and tasty. Don't know how much more this could go as it is drinking really well. A tasty treat especially for the price.

Decanted with minimal agitation. moderate sediment. consumed over 3.5 hours. Brick rimmed with ruby core. excellent legs. Nose of strawberry jam with cigar box and eucalyptus verging on menthol which dissipates with time in the glass. good mouthfeel a bit thin with bright red fruit still present with mineral and pencil lead undertones. balance increased with time and was very reasonable by the end of the bottle. still with good tannic structure but overall somewhat one dimensional. all in all a reasonable napa cab at 14 years on. will hang on till 2015+ if cellared properly.

Exceptionally fresh, with that wonderful feminine quality I associate with Spring Mtn. In fact I guessed this to be a '99 Pride Merlot, possibly a Mountaintop Select. One of my favorites from a somewhat deservedly maligned vintage. Tannins are quite soft but the fruit is still very intact and the wine is delicious. I think this was Tom Rinaldi's last year at Duckhorn before moving on to Provenance. DAY 2:still tasting great; has lost the violet and showing more cedar. Wondering if I have more somewhere
