Lagier Meredith Vertical (1999 thru 2010) + (Loren's Home): The groups #2 WOTN, but middle of the pack for me. Another Beautiful wine just getting to peak. Dusty clay nose with solid black raspberry fruit. not as complex at the 99, but very nice. Great mouth feel. Juicy acidity. Black raspberry fruit. This was a recent purchase from the winery so perhaps it is more backward and will develop more, but this was not as developed as the 99. Still an outstanding wine.
Pepper, meat, and herbs on the nose. Really opened up an hour after opening. Lighter side of medium texture, with still a few tannins showing on the back end. Modest but pleasing finish. Still in a decent place to drink if you have any left.
A beautiful wine that is just hitting its stride. Rich meaty black fruit with great depth of flavor with secondary notes of pipe smoke, black cherry and black pepper. Excellent balance and spot on acidity with a medium to long finish.
