Opened for 2 hours, not decanted. Dark red & sombre. Full-throttle nose (classic Bordeaux, pencil lead, red fruit), taste a little closed, medium-length powerfull finish, a tad dryish. Drank with wild boar stew. Let this one sit yet some more, maybe two-three years.
Aerated with a Vinturi and decanted for 1.5 hours. Nose of blackberry, currant, mocha, tobacco, graphite and spice. A black and red fruit core with integrated graphite, leather, spice and mineral notes on the palate. Leads to a long, soft finish. Medium to full bodied. Drinking well, but no rush. Paired with prime rib.

(Chateau Branaire Ducru) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-you get this beautiful lavender meets blueberry pie; huge intensity; very serious; dark fruit; very elegant and polished; very smooth almost ocean like; PALATE-this wine is friggin' SPECTACULAR; this is beautiful, textbook Bordeaux; there is huge intensity of fruit coming through; there's AMAZING blackberry, blueberries and black currant; a hint of leather, but jammy, jammy fruit that provides a delicious factor that's in the 100 point range; Beautiful, Great, this is just Fantastic! I I'm completely blown away by how well this is drinking; the smoothness of this wine is ridonkulous; one of the best wines I've had this year; this completely ROCKS my face off; Spectacular!!!
