Nose of saddle leather, plum, dark fruit, smoke, and a touch of blackberry, more of the same on the palate, easy to drink over dinner, great flavors, subtle and almost elegant, well balanced, very delicious with dinner, medium/big body, and a long finish. A great value.
This is drinking beautifully and will last through 2017 or 2018. Ripe blackberries, cassis and wet earth cover a firm foundation with enough mild tannins to preserve this wine at least two ore years. May make it to 2020, but it is drinking so beautifully right now, I don't see a reason to gamble.
Work wine tasting - Triplets: Consistent with previous note at same bash eleven months ago. Smooth, fruity and nicely mellow damson and mulberry fruit with earthy cedary development. Plenty of interest for the price and a point now. ***1/2
