Our first wine of the evening after the champagne and it was a great start with a classic Bordeaux. Dark in color and fully open after 2 hours of air time in the glass. Typical Pauillac aromas of cigar box, tobacco, hints of green pepper. On the palate plenty of dark fruit and chocolate. Tannins were smooth and this was drinking very nicely.
2nd bottle from OWC. A soft, well balanced wine, with some fruit, and a long, if not bold, finish. This is what claret used to - and I daresay is supposed to - taste like. Certainly ready now, but should be equally pleasant for another ten years, at least.

Made from Cabernet Sauvignon (70 %), Merlot (25 %), Petit Verdot (2 %), Cabernet franc (3 %).
Intense dark brownish colour. Despite its age, the acidity is highly pronounced, but balanced and w. a good tannic structure. Still alive and w. good finesse and relatively complex profile. Almost an antithesis of modern Bordeaux after Parker.
My notes: Green bell pepper, pepper, herbs, acidic coffee, leather, musk and a tiny plum.

Sipped at Hooters Bangkok. All the Hooters' ladies were impressed as none of them were anywhere near as old as the bottle ;-)
