  • Opened during lunch. Cork pulled out in two pieces thanks The Durand. Terribly mouldy (pictured). Brilliant cherry colour. Meaty aromas melted into a ferrous pot also with cherries and sweet herbs. Little modest right as expected. On the palate showed more expressive, silk texture for a savoury, medium-bodied wine with a decent length and a strawberry aftertaste.
Supposedly a rustic, sturdy wine in origen that has been tamed by the times. One bottle remaining surely for auction.

Abierto durante el almuerzo. Corcho sacado en dos piezas gracias a The Durand. Terriblemente enmohecido (en la foto). Color cereza brillante.

  • Deliciously mature Burgundy that is still fresh and powerful thanks to the 1999 vintage yet showing plenty of earth, dried floral and mushroom complexity. Lovely umami textures. Consistent with a bottle from four+ years ago -- will hold for 5-10 more at this level.

  • What Nanda wrote. A relatively simple red burg drinking at peak (or damn well near it). A killer showing - with the stuffing to go on for 10 years, easy. Dark and red fruits, discreet tannins and a secondary nose. Lovely

  • A humble little Burgundy that is in a gorgeous spot at the moment. Pop n pour. The nose starts with ripe black cherry with a good dose of earth funky. The funk blows off with 15 minutes and you're left with secondary old leather and damp earth notes matched with still fresh and rich black cherry fruit. Has the stuffing to hold for 10+ years.

  • lovely red fruited and savory, with some spice. It's fresh and pure. In a good spot now and very enjoyable. Complicated enough to keep your interest, but easy to enjoy. 89

(Jadot Louis Beaune Les Teurons) Medium ruby-red. The nose is just a little reduced, eventually a mix of sweet, slightly dark oak and understated redder notes. The palate is fresh and linear with well-covered tannins. The acidity is a little tart, but there is quite enough fruit and a nice creamy edge to the fruit and acid-driven finish. Fresh but fun - I enjoyed.

(Jadot Louis Beaune Les Teurons) Medium ruby-red. This is a wine that needs to be cooled - at room temperature the nose and palate are diffuse and disappointing, cooler and it tightens up, becoming (a little) more interesting. The (cool) nose is high-toned with a core of red fruit fruit and plenty of minerally earth. The palate is beautifully balanced with good acidity and quite good length. It is rather linear and despite its relative sophistication (cold) has less 'oomph' than most village wines. I'm still a little disappointed.
