Surprisingly delicious. Classic but refined Shiraz nose. Cool fruit balance good depth maybe slightly fuzzy finish with a little heat but overall v good

NobleRottersSydney - blind Shiraz (Verde, East Sydney): {cork, 14%} (DavidM) Beautiful aged nose of tobacco, spices, and decaying red fruits. Has a stalky touch which adds to the bouquet; such a beautiful nose. The palate offers much the same flavours; it has lovely depth of fruit, with medium dusty tannins, plenty of medium-bodied weight on the mid-palate, and a medium-length finish. Does develop a distinct Barossa sweetness as it sits in the glass; almost a candied quality, but it doesn’t take the wine away from being objectively dry. Terrific example of what the Barossa does really well at a modest price.

Cork was done, broke when opening. Gorgeous Garnet colour when poured. Initial nose was a bit medicinal but the fruit opened up after about half an hour. Tannins were smoothed right out, little acidity. Took a bit for the pepper to come forward. Had a definate red fruit edge, bit of current and def. chocolate once it opened up. This wine had aged lovely and was ready. But longer and the fruit would have disappeared.
