Nose not huge, but has a strongly varietal aroma, with oily notes. Still very fresh and concentrated on the palate. Crisp lime flavours with some peach notes, and quite a lot more sweetness than we had expected from a Kabinett. Reasonable palate length. Opened to enjoy with fish and oysters, and once the wine was tasted we rustled up some pate and blue cheese to start with – wine went very nicely with these. Very nice wine.

The more I drink this wine, the less I like it. While it's termed a Kabinett, it's got the sweetness level of at least a Spatlese and really approaching an Auslese. I understand why folks have a hard time understanding German wines. This wine is really best for spicy food or foie gras. It has too much sweetness for courses early in an evening where you would typically use a Kabinett, such as a seafood course.

I expected a somewhat dry wine from a Kabinett, but this wine has quite a bit of sweetness, but not at all like a dessert wine. The fruit is explosive with melon and citrus. It's an excellent wine with spicy foods.

Tasting so fresh and young from a magnum. Lime cordial with slate essence and lemon oil. Clean, tangy and revitalising.
