  • A blanket of suphur pins down the aromas at first but then lifts to reveal exotic smells of custard apple, spiced pear and rockmelon. It is dense and sappy in the mouth with some spicy oak notes still prevalent. Even though the wine is quite fat and heady there’s good citrus line and decent cut to the finish. Drinking very well.

  • I was worried after reading and tasting a lot of random oxidation in 99 white burgs that this bottle may also fall victim....not to be!! A bright golden colour with aromatics of toast and citris. The palate has bracing acidity which should see this wine through for another 15 years. The palate reminded me of good raveneau....slatey, stoney, minerally with a core of lemon/lime that left me wanting more. Keen to try again in 10 years.
