Pinot Days San Francisco; 6/29/2008-6/30/2008 (Fort Mason): Tasted at Pinot Days. Quick notes: I talked to Gray Hartley briefly and mentioned that I had tried the 2006 wines earlier at Ferry Plaza Wine Merchants. As a result, he only poured two wines for me that were not poured there. As far as I could tell this is something like the Kosta Browne Four Barrel: limited case production from the best barrels pulled from specific areas. Unfortunatley, I don't remember which areas the barrels were from, so the designation I created maybe wrong. Strong notes of charcoal, licorice, caramel with dark fruit and spice ending with a tightly drawn finish. Not my style but exotic and Good.
