A fairly smooth Rhone as previously noted. Comments are pretty much the same as the bottle consumed in April. This time had the wine with tomato soup and dry salame. It actually did a good job standing up to the acid and tomato taste for an enjoyable evening.

Med deep purple red with a pleasant CDR nose of plum, licorice, leather and a hint of floral - a bit dry on the palate, which is dominated more by the leather side of things and plum, and the finish is just OK, but this drinks like a proper CDR, and when used in the right place, just what the doctor ordered.

Classic good CDR. Nose is a little closed at first so give it an hour or so to breath. You will be rewarded with a fine mix of dark fruit and acidity. I liked this bottle a lot and the price was right.

Extremely closed; hard to find the soul of this one through its nose. Very smooth and easy drinking rhone. The balance between fruit and acid was well done. Not a lot of tannins. This is a pretty straightforward, uncomplicated wine. It probably would be easily overpowered by almost any kind of hearty, saucy meal, but it was a comfortable match with roast chicken and baby carrots.

Extremely tart, very fruity. Too much barnyard for my tastes
