I was leery of this bottle just from seeing two labels on it. One from Premier Cru and the other from Spectrum. Double curse??!! Actually pleasantly surprised that there was none of the torrefacted, coffee grounds nonsense that I’ve experienced in some other ‘05s, reminiscent of so many 1990 red burgs. This had dark cherry, beefy density, baking spices; gamey qualities. Holding up strong on Day 2.

This wine was very dark and quite closed. Some notes of hard red fruit and pepper. Hard to see where this is going. I was not really impressed but still good winemaking.
