Sweet wine tasting (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Amber color. Fully developed, very spicy nose and also a bit hot. On the palate rich and hot. Spicy, wax, tannin, honey. Not overly complex and IMHO past peak. 88-90

A private tasting and dinner at a friend's (Amsterdam): Rich and sweet, lots of oak, full gold, old school, intense, wax and peach, tannic and rich, ripe grapes, honey, Yquem-like, concentrated and impressive. No subtlety, firm bitters, but the weight is there.

Wow! Beautiful, fresh nose of apricot, citrus, and honey. Same on the palate, with some tangerine notes as well. Good texture, balance, and finish. Sipped this for 3 days, and it was best on day 3. In the beginning, there were some bitter notes that disappeared on day 3. Wonderful!

Lovely, fully mature Sauternes. Possible the leanest, most incisive I've had. I would have preferred a bit more depth/backbone but all in all an excellent example from a less than noble vintage

Transparent red-ruby. Nose: A little dilute-watery, sugary, baking spices, apricots. Very sweet on palate with lots of brulee, orange peel - lots of wiry acid. Almost like a Madeira. Nose - 4/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je Ne Sais Pas - 2/2 = 16.5/20.
