  First of three bottles.
  Mid-shoulder fill. The cork came out almost in one piece...
  Incredible hue for a 82 year old bottle of wine with minimal brownig; it looked like a ten year old wine.
  The wine was carefully decanted. It took this wine several hours to open up.
  Early on, it was quite closed and dominated by acidity and a spiciness. With time, it developed more complexity and richness. You cannot say that the wine ever became charming, but the backbone of this wine is something to behold.
  with more time, cigar- box, tobacco, mushroom, soy and earthy aromas developed. also, the tannins rounded out a little.
  Fascinating wine that can easily go another decade...
