I was concerned this one might Bo dead by now, but I couldn't be more wrong. Decanted for an hour and then enjoyed with a grilled ribeye. Fabulous! Still very vivid black cherry, smokey oak, cassis, and slight hint of vanilla and leather. Nice long finish.
Shockingly good, and probably would rate 95-6 if I'd drank entire bottle first night. Great fruit flavor, a little plumby/pruney but with enough structure underlying that it was great to drink. Just kept slurping in my mouth and it got better and better each sip. Thought I need to let all my high quality wines age 20 years while drinking this. But second night pruniness a little more pronounced, reducing score a point. Drink soon.

(Beringer Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve) Group's #4 (my #6) – 57 pts.; 0, 2, 1, 0 – medium red violet color with pale meniscus; tobacco, leather and charcoal nose; more mature on palate, narrow, leather and plum palate with sweet tannins; medium finish
(Beringer "Private Reserve" Cabernet Sauvignon) Smells like paint right out of the gates. Ripe cassis and berries after the paint blows off. Tar, leather, cranberries, mocha, fudge, bbq sauce. Very complex nose. Rich and decadent on the palate with really nice complex flavors of dark chocolate, black cherries, plum and really lifting acids. Ripe but not too. Nice mint too on the finish. Long, winding finish that trails off very slowly. Fine grained tannins that are perfectly ripe. Great thrust and buildup on the finish.
