Chinese New Year lunch, went great with salty unctuous mix of goodies on the table (even cooked fish with soy sauce glaze).. Lovely bright fruit, just starting to show development in a gorgeous earthy "Frenchy" way.

This is dark purple and surprisingly murky with a nose of ripe plum, violets, and berry Pez. A lot of fruit on the nose, reminds me of 2005 Givrey. Lots of volume and sap on the palate -- ripe dark stone fruit, good acid, viscous, good minerality. This is very concentrated, but not as fine or as precise as the 2005 Rossignol Mouches. Very 2005, good showing for this cru. A little out of balance -- I'd be inclined to drink now and enjoy this one for its fruit.

(Nicolas Rossignol Beaune 1er Cru Les Reversées) Dark cherry red color; tart cherry and berry nose; tart, tight red fruit palate with sweet tannins, a little backward; medium-plus finish

Lovely balanced pinot, showed very elegantly next to a heavier handed (but also good) Rhys.

Great ultra ripe strawberry, wonderful fresh food wine, clean, sinewy, a touch of pine and roast coffee.

2005 Red Burgundies: Nicolas Rossignol (Vin Vino Wine, Palo Alto, CA): No nose at all. Palate is tight too and quite tannic, but dark cherries come through. Definitely needs time and could get a lot better as the tannins integrate.
