Tasted at Lorne in London , bottle brought by a friend. Colour: deep bright gold with amber hue, bright, clear. Nose: full, fresh, rounded, stone fruits, elegant rather than full on. Taste: med body, rounded, very ripe, great fruit/acidity balance, stone fruits and some tertiary noted but still stunningly fresh, long finish, dry and elegant, good fruit and did not tire. Overall, a revelation and a treat. This has mellowed beautifully into an exceptionally balanced wine.12.5% ABV

Very dry now as whatever residual sugar was once there has precipitated out. Excellent - but keep the dryness in mind when pairing- this would work with seafood or wild mushrooms as an umami intensifier.

Aged Riesling - pie crust, petrol, dried apples, baking spices. Similar on the palate - more dried out. Lots of bitterness here with the other flavors - like dried botrytis spores or pollen or something. finish is very dried out and bitter. This has a nice racy structure and if there was more fruit this would be excellent. Nose - 4.5/6, Palate - 4/6, Finish - 3.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 13/20.

Dinner with Salil at home. Dark yellow in color. Strong peaty nose that has some richness to it but clearly screams of it's origin. Very dry on the palate but far from austere. Long smoky finish and a showing of this wine's typical Liqueur de Rangen character from start to finish. Literally jaw droppingly good as. Salil physically displayed! 50 +14+14+9.5+9.5=97

Golden light amber in color. Nose is of petrol and slightly honeyed. Palate is dry clean with some residual sweetness.
