  • This proves, even from somewhat mediocre vintages, well made Alsatian riesling can be outstanding. Dry finish, great acidity, minerality, luscious peach-like fruit. I think some of the best values in the wine world come from Alsace, especially for these mid-price point "special cuvees" from all of the famous makers (Trimbach's Cuvee Frederic Emile, Weinbach's Cuvees, Zind Single Vineyard stuff, etc) - they are usually in the 30 to 50 dollar range and they constantly wow me, while other regions 30 to 50 dollar range can be inconsistent.

  • lean and mineral with lots of lime on the nose, some apple skins. good acidity frames the wine. very fresh and the energetic core defies the overall lightness of the wine. i wonder if i drank this too young, because overall it seems a bit reserved.

(Domaine Weinbach Riesling Cuvée Théo) Light yellow color; herbal, aromatic, dried peach nose; tart, tangy, citrus, mineral entry gives way to mid-palate drop out; short finish
