Took a sip and felt like someone hit me on the side of the head with a 2 x 4. Oak, oak, oak. Not my style of chard. I'd like some fruit and acid next time please.

Tasted at Miner Vineyards. Soft, plush and ripe on the nose with a more tropical take on the bouquet of Chardonnay - a touch of mango mixed with tangerine and some softer orchard fruit. Not a lot of complexity though - sort there. The oak was fairly well integrated on the nose. On the palate, the oak was far more prominent - not buttered popcorn, but close. The fruit was playing second fiddle at this point and the wine lacked acid - which I found to be a common theme. More interesting on the nose than the regular bottling, but not too impressed with either one both 'good,' but not my style.

Always have been a fan of Miner's wild yeast whites. Yum.

Leaner than Miner's standard Napa Chard, this is more focused with great purity to its lemon, green apple, pear and crushed flower flavors.

nose -buttered popcorn, lemon
mouth - full bodied, rich creamy lemon curd with biter aftertones.
Could be rated higher but not really my style.
