Bollinger's NV Brut Rosé is unfettered elegance, with a shimmering salmon robe and ultra-fine mousse, the nose displays freshly macerated strawberries and raspberries, rose petals and spice. It's all neatly corseted modest toast, with creaminess at the mid-palate lending depth and weight, softening an otherwise be a bony spine. There is minerality here too, but it's discreet. Sample

(NV Bollinger Champagne Brut Rosť) Light orange pink color with steady, tiny bubbles; appealing, tart cherry, tart strawberry nose; creamy textured, tart cherry, strawberry cream, mineral palate; medium-plus finish (62% Pinot Noir (6% finished PN wine), 24% Chardonnay, 14% Pinot Meunier; 5 to 15% comes from reserve wines aged 5-15 years in magnums) 91+ points
(NV Bollinger Champagne Brut Rosť) Light medium peach yellow color; tart cherry, raspberry nose; tasty, tart cherry, tart strawberry, mineral palate; medium-plus finish 90+ points (with still Pinot Noir)
(NV Bollinger Rosť) Current release. The typically pale yet slightly golden-rosé hue that this non-vintage cuvée usually possesses. The nose has a lovely and dense smoke-tinged fruit character, admittedly very close in style to the Special Cuvée, with notes of peach and light citrus fruits alongside. On the palate it seems very full but composed, elegant and nicely integrated. This is certainly more ready and appealing right now than the Special Cuvée, perhaps it has been hanging around in distribution and retail a little longer? A fine and tingling mousse is part of an overall very stylish composition. This seems to be a consistently delicious cuvée from Bollinger.
(NV Bollinger Rosť) Lot L924409 I think (a little difficult to read). Very fat mushroom-shaped cork, and the first glass foams with youthfulness, but those subsequent are better behaved. Beautiful colour, peachy-salmon, and an intensely fine bead, remarkable for a non-vintage cuvée. Great nose, with freshly picked strawberries, peaches, smoky with a pure and lightly creamy edge. Lovely freshness on the palate with a fine, slowly-building substance through the midpalate. Precise acidity, backing up a lightly silky-cottony feel to the texture, and a gentle but broad finish. Good length too. Very composed, harmonious, remarkably elegant, the red wine and base wine seem perfectly entwined. Alongside the wines of Billecart-Salmon, undoubtedly one of the best non-vintage rosés I have experienced. I suspect it would give even greater pleasure over the next few years.
(NV Bollinger Rosť) Lot number L005004 (printed on the neck foil). This wine is a blend of 45% 2004, 45% 2005 and 10% reserve wines (as for the Special Cuvée) with this assemblage then augmented with 5% red wine. Disgorged October 2009. This has a lovely, peachy hue and a restrained, stony nose. Very elegant yet quite substantial sense to the palate, broad, with a fleshy substance, but also composed and well delineated. There is style and savoir-faire in spades here. Delicious wine.
(NV Bollinger Rosť) This is the same blend as for Special Cuvée but was produced one year earlier, so here the base vintages are 2003 and 2004. There is 5% red wine added. The colour is fairly bright, a smoked-salmon pink. The nose has a little raspberry-toffee sweetness at first, a nuance which quickly passed, leaving little notes of cherry, plum and creamy honeycomb. Elegant on the palate, full, a gentle mousse, and fine acidity. Overall harmonious, stylish, reserved, although with a firm finish.
Here's another offer that presented itself while I was in Italy - a pristine parcel of Bollinger's debut NV Rose' directly from the source. The power of the WA rears its head again with a drastic slash in price on this wine simply due to an 89 pt rating (it appears the other 90+ ratings from other sources are not important enough?).
(NV Bollinger Rosť) Current release. A pink, onion-skin hue, and a nose of wet pebbles and strawberry leaves. The palate is attractive, vibrant and rather pure in style, with a clean and firm core of acidity. There is a good polish to this. It needs a few years in my opinion, but could be very good given that time.
(NV Bollinger Champagne Brut Rosť) Citrus nose; very tart, chalky, tight, citrus and mineral palate; medium finish 90+ pts.
