Tasted by RPerro on 8/23/2009 & rated 86 points: Italy in the Valley (Cana's Feast Winery, Carlton, OR): Medium red color. Earthy strawberries, with a touch of tobacco. Finishes rather sour and primary. (153 views)
Tasted by jrobs7777 on 1/23/2009 & rated 87 points: Not bad -- I'd like to see the price at closer to $15. Nice deep purple color. Fruit developed as the wine was swirled in the glass. Nose of blue fruit, raspberry, some oak and a touch of menthol. Nice smooth and sweet on the palate. Fruit took some coaxing but came through as it mixed with the sweet oaky notes. Nice medium finish. (233 views)
Tasted by dhammer53 on 10/27/2008: 2006 Dolcetto $25. Winery only. Sweetish, cherry, pepper, and some tannins. Good for a roast, or so I was told. Tasted at Ponzi. (253 views)
Tasted by jrobs7777 on 9/8/2008 & rated 87 points: Very nice Dolcetto from unlikely place. Deep red color. Nose of cherry and a touch of oak. The palate was more or less a straight shot -- sour cherry, cherry vanilla and some oak. Very fruit forward and not terribly subtle, but that is not the intention. Easy drinking with a bit of tartness at the back and a surprisingly long finish. (258 views)

About red wine
Varietal character (Appellation America)

Dolcetto, a northern Italian varietal from the Piedmont region, is a lighter bodied red. This wine is fruity and means 'little sweet one' in Italian. Some will opt to put a slight chill on it. Perfect with Mediterrean cuisine such as grilled meats and vegetables. Enjoy as a summertime delight. from (Woodward Canyon website)
