  • 6 1/2 years on from the last bottle (same case), this is truly in extraordinary shape. It took a few minutes to take shape in the decanter - and then just got better and better. Utterly beautiful in fruit, shape, texture and length.

  • Better than expected. A great wine indeed. Potential for another 15 to 20 years. The wine is crimson colored but very dense. legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like a Burgundy inspired raspberry, cherry, forest floor, mushroom blend, light toast and clove. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity. Will let the other bottles sleep for another 3 years.

  • Maybe hints of orange reflexes, but all in all no signs of age regarding the colour. First intense nose of dominantly cassis with hints of tobacco, oak, vanilla and spice. Round and good concenration but light on its feet and enough refreshing acidity. After less than one hour (with decantation earlier) it gets more and more oaky and vanilla is dominating and less and less fruit is apparent making the wine nearly one dimensional. I don't expect further evolution. Given the price this appearance is a little bit disappointing. For an outstanding rating it lacks a bit of concentration and complexity as well as future.

  • Marvellous. Even with little time open, this wine showed great character from the get go. A little smoky, it envelops your mouth with red fruits. No hint of the astringency the other note described. Only one bottle left of this now. Will drink through 2020+.

  • I actually expected a bit more. The wine was nice but a bit light and astringent given its pedigree.
