  Opened and drank, with lasagne marinara. Good color, light sediment, youthful, secondary notes. In a very good spot. Tobacco and cherries. A little damp earth adds to the complexity. One of the better Chiantis out there for the money. Fades on the mid palate a bit, but offers a nice little nose, simple charm, and enough overall balance to make this a good buy year after year.

  Starting to show its age, with some bricking at the rim and a general brownish hue. Sour Cherry and cranberry notes over rustic, earthy tobacco like flavors. The dusty tannins make themselves known, but they are not at all out of place. Overall, this is in a good place and remains a great value.
