After a bit of airing out this wine was lovely with ripe fruit notes and muddy earth undertones. The balance was very nice and the acidity was supportive but not intrusive. Paired well with food (roasted Cornish Hen). Mature but still drinking very nicely.

A solid mature Corton, with notes of dark fruits and savory on the nose. On the palate its extremely well balanced with acids, savory notes and fruits all mingling together to create a smooth lengthy finish. A very nice wine.
Tasted a year ago and this bottle showing slightly better.

Elegant and silky, with some complexity and polished tannins, balanced by adequate acidity. A correct and satisfying entry level grand cru, but lacks the breed for greatness. A very good PQR though.

Very nice but lacking a certain something - like a beautiful old lady who had to stop dancing to catch her breath for a bit. There is a certain tiredness that seems to overlay the whole effort at this point. Certainly smooth, mature, balanced with all of the usual "old pinot" flavors, but just a bit flat. Have more bottles and will open them over the next few years. Perhaps its just this bottle or perhaps the whole lot is going through a closed period at the moment in its development. Stay tuned.......

Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Corton Red (Rodwell House): [Tasted Blind] Light red through to an orange rim. More development here with tertiary notes of plastic bottles and dried orange peel. More evolution shows on entry with clear notes of mushrooms, earth and wet forest floor. Hessian tannins with minerals with pepper notes and a long length seem to make up for a more tertiary feel. As it opens, one gets the impression of whole clusters being used, and the acid starts to help give the wine direction. Seems to have that tertiary yet also retain freshness. No oak spice so more traditional, that made it enjoyable.
