  • This bottle was a another "lost soldier" in the temperature-controlled wine cabinet of a non-oenophile friend. Purchased upon release and cellared in the wine unit thereafter, it is medium garnet and flaunts aromas of maraschino cherries, smoke, dried herbs, earth and allspice. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (13.9%) and with melted tannins, it delivers flavors mirroring the nose and stays solid in the middle. Closing with medium length, this well-cellared wine remains quite enjoyable! Drink now-2018..

  • This wine was a "find" in the temperature-controlled wine cabinet of a non-oenophile friend. The wine had been purchased upon release and cellared in this (quite-nice) wine unit thereafter. The robe is medium garnet and the nose shows nice aromas of red cherries, herbs, earth and assorted spices. Medium-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, melted tannins and well-integrated alcohol (which is listed as 13.9%). The flavors mirror the nose, with plenty of residual fruit. The middle palate is solid and the finish is smooth and of medium length. It is really fun to see how pristine cellaring conditions can make "serendipitous" wines (that is, those forgotten in the cellar) a neat experience. If you accidentally run across one of these at this point, drink and enjoy! Drink now-12/15.
