In glass an hour and a half. Initially this was incredibly funky on the nose, like an old musty Bordeaux, but that has entirely blown off now. At this stage, I get pleasing aromas of charred zucchini, radishes covered in sweet graphite and dirt, spicy acidic cranberry. This is quite a lush nose. If I pictured it, it'd look like a dusty marshmallow. The palate shows more intense graphite, creamed radishes mixed with dirt and raspberry juice, and pretty big tannins build as this holds on the palate. This has an oddly earthy creamy notion that's quite a different experience. The finish hits with spice, and then mellows to some really nice dirty berries, with great acidity. A minute later the flavors are still lingering on the tongue, and they are tastier than ever, without any of the grip, only pure expressions of strawberry juice.

Schioppettino and Cabernet Sauvignon. Slight brick at rim. Abundant forest floor initially adding honey/riesling and subtle mint elements after 30 minutes. Flavor of strong, pleasant mineral/soil. Fantastic, nuanced fruit complexity. It's together now, light/medium in the mouth, balanced with high acid, no tannin and a short/medium finish. Drinks like a white (exaggeration to make a point, but most people get that). Intellectual over hedonistic. Elegant. Great at the table. Now or wait. A couple bottles is about right, a case, too much. Give it 30 minutes.

80% Schioppetino, 20% Cabernet Franc. Beautiful, fragrant and ripe bouquet of spices (clove), red fruit, honey and flowers (violet, jasmin, rose), light and ethereal as a Frühburgunder but at the same time deep, powerful and structured, but above all supremely soft, elegant and feminine, great finesse, lovely balancing tannins, very good length.
