Generally big nose, but it seems a bit aldehydic to me (oxydized, some might say). In other words, it has a sherry-like richness that I don't enjoy. But that may be idiosyncratic to me, and it is not so heavy that I can't enjoy the wine. For the money, it is a big, rich wine.
Blackberry, cedar, and spice aromas; medium plus body with nice acidity and some tannin; flavors don't quite match the complexity of the aromas, but tasty hints of cherry and berries; brief non-descript finish. A well balanced wine, not overly complex but very drinkable, and a good match for grilled tri-tip. B
