Community Tasting Notes (3) Median Score: 84 points

  • Not undrinkable, but showing significant oxidation on the nose and especially on the palate. Still some remnants of apple and bread. Last bottle, and sadly we should have consumed perhaps three years ago.

  • Unsure if this note is being entered in the right place, because the vintage, producer, apellation, designation and type all match with what we drank, but the label shown does not match the label on our bottle. An outstanding sparkling white, and one of those times where the performance lived up to the description. Deep golden yellow color, and if I had a wish for improvement it would have been for the medium bubbles to be tighter, more dense. But the age compromise was worthwhile, because the nose was fabulously complex, with fresh baked yeasty bread, warm apple pie (including a sprinkle of cinammon), plus lemons, apricot, flowers, peat, and marzipan. Full bodied, complex, long, and creamy on the palate. Acidity was decent and went well with dinner as we "picked" fresh OBX blue crabs. At 30 dollars the value is incredible given the level of complexity. Very glad to have another bottle waiting.
