i was lucky to have a prestine bottle with wine remaining at high neck level. it actually benefits from a little bit breathing and holds up well in the glass. Initially a bit funky, then turns chocolate, coffee, tea and dried fruit, with a palate that's suprisingly rich yet lithe. I could feel the layers. Yes it quite tertiary, but full of life. I enjoyed my 2nd glass of this even more.

Exploring the wines of Portugal @ Raimondo's (Netherlands): Clearly an aged wine. Impressions of cold tea, rust, blood, beef juice, coffee. There's still adequate lift and freshness, but hardly any fruit. All-in-all, still quite enjoyable for me. 15/20

Nice color for his age. still quite dark red at the center. nose takes time to open up from sewer to an autumn forest after rain (with some sewer). leather, anice, dark fruit marmelade. the taste is just great. still very fresh and alive. This wine really has reached a second prime in its live. just a great example of an aged Brunello. nice acidity. tannins completely integrated.
very very nice.

Occasional tasting group: Portugal plus some extra's. (@ RT): Very tertiary, but still alive. A lot of coffee, chocolate, leather, tea and soft bitterness. Also pleasant freshness. A wine for tasting, rather than for drinking. No score.
