  • Fully mature in color, this is a superb Amoureuses, which in contrast to others from 1983, is very much Chambolle in character. Elegant aromatic nose with red fruit notes. Elegant richness on the palate with plenty of red fruit notes - raspberry, strawberry. Finishes nicely long. Quite a bottle. Correction: This bottle was actually Serveau 83 Chambolle Amoureuses.

  • Impeccably stored since release. Atypical Amoureuses, but very, very perfumy and very rich in the earthy meaty style although still a touch dry. Seems more Vosne or Gevrey than Chambolle. Impressive immediately on opening (initially rated it 91). Three hours on it has blossomed very nicely. A wonderful wine for a great piece of beef. Regardless of the problems that show up in the 1983's, the extract is certainly there. This is another 83 that makes the point.
But at this point, I wouldn't go near them if you aren't certain of the storage. (This wine has been stored at 47-53 degress since 1986).
