From mag. PNP. First taste was a bit odd, but this changed as it opened up quickly to be a really wonderful experience. Good red fruit still present with an acid backbone and showing lots of secondary notes. Well structured with a bit of an old world style and some oak that's perfectly integrated. Aged Cali cabs are proving to be so much more interesting than the fresh fruit bombs of more recent releases. Really delicious.

Not as ripe and full bodied as I've come to expect from the 1147. Smells beautiful like a top class aged Paulliac. Flavors are dominated by cassis and some herb tones and complimented by tar and charcoal and some faint tobacco leaf. Finish is not as long as I'm used to from DA 1147. Drinking very well now; but I think it's at peak.

Complex. Not too dry and not too sweet.
