"You only turn 45 once" (Chicago, IL): There's a nice herbal element on the nose here, with red fruit and acidity that is pretty fresh. Not too complex, but certainly great vibrancy for a sangiovese of this age. I'm pretty sure this is the oldest chianti I've ever had.

Slight orange color. Bouquet more youthful than '74 Christian Bro cab and '74 Havelock Paul Draper Zin. Of the three, this wine is drinking the best. The fruit in this wine has survived better than the cab and zin. Best of the three.
