  • Wine is drinking perfectly now. The cork disintegrated though, so be careful taking it out. The wine was a little more austere, with less fruit than I expected. Still a pleasure to drink.

  • I'm not the audience for this wine. It's big, plush, and packed with dense black cherry fruit, wrapped up in soft velvety tannins. Missing the backbone and the finesse I look for in a Nebbiolo.

  • Elio and Silvia bottles between 2000 and 2500 bottles of this wine every year, from parcels facing south, south-east (one planted in 1948, and one in 1989). Not to be mistaken for their Barolo Arborina, who is vinified as a Barolo vs Langhe Arborina which spends only 18 months in barrels. Dark red color. Coffee, floral notes, and meat aromas. Evolves in the glass, complex. Extremely elegant, silky and smooth on the palate. A joy to drink this rich, fresh and fruity wine today, but will also cellar well. Perhaps the best 97 nebbiolo I have had this year. If balance is your thing, you will like this one.

  • Colour saturated red - no loss of colour at the rim yet. The nose of the wine grows in the glass over the course of the four hours it was drunk. A lot of bitter dark cherries, dried meat, hay, ground espresso coffebeans, a whiff of tobacco and some floral notes. A certain dryness in the nose - very elegant and beguiling. The texture of this wine is puse velvet - it is sooo smoth on the palate. Not a lot of complexity yet but wow - is this wine well-composed. Light-footed and elegant, like a ballerina on her toes. Splendid pure and crisp fruit and tannins and acidity of great quality. The finish is perfect harmony while the tannins indicate that this wine could have lived longer. Well - no harm done as it is drinking beautifully today.
