A singularly great California Pinot experience. It was a bit awkward 10 years ago but it blossomed into something magnificent. Deep, complex, long, and in perfect balance.

How crazy is this bottle... Nice firm cork suggesting good cellar storage. Wine diamonds present.
Deep cherry core and beautifully clear with just a touch of garnet just below a clear rim. A very pretty wine, but a touch darker than I would expect and very youthful for 12 years of bottle age. 4
Blueberry and strawberries for fruit on the nose. After 3 hours of air this bottle is nosing spearmint, clean earth, tar and dark tea. Almost noses like a mature CS. A bit of heat... I guessed 14 percent based on the nose (I swear I didn't cheat) 13
Medium mouthfeel and quite tannic. Cherry cola, black tea, orange peel and lemon on the front. Mid palate is slightly meaty and finish evolves into a garden of granite and flowers that goes on forever. Might need a bit more time to resolve tannins??? How could that be??? 18
Overall experience is so intense, vibrant and different than anything I've tasted from Clos Pepe. This was another step. Very enjoyable indeed. 10

Slow Ox'ed for 3 hours. Lovely exotic nose of apricots, orange rind, and honey (almost reminds me of Sauternes) over a core of red cherries. Extremely balanced and satisfying, a wonderful example of pinot noir from this region. I think it may even exceed many of the pinots from this region.

A dozen years in the bottle and consumed over two days. Dusty cork provided a good seal, just difficult to get out cleanly. Dark ruby color with no hint of oxidation, good clarity. Aromas of black cherry and tea. Flavors of strawberry, cranberry, and rhubarb with a medium finish. Slightly acidic, but a fairly balanced wine, still shows fruit. Possibly past peak and nearing the end of life. Drink up !

Great initially. Awesome bouquet but otherwise flat. Hope the other bottle is better.
