Dark yellow in the glass with building Batard fruit and thickness on the palate. Minerals on the finish make it a really nice drink all by itself but I really can't see it with anything but a big pork roast for food! You need something to match the big round flavors.

G6 (Alex): Bright yellow color. Spicy nose of cloves and cinnamon. Tastes of apple, melon, and lemon. Spicy finish. There was quite a bit of debate at the table if this wine was corked or not. At first I didn't see it but after it opened in the glass I could detect it only on the nose. Very slight TCA that didn't seem to detract from the wine for me. 14% alcohol.

Stylistically this is a bit truer to the terroir than the Leflaive. It shows classic Batard fat and sweetness, but with a fine structure and spine of minerals. This was the second best of the flight, behind the '96 Leflaive but better than '00 and '04 Leflaive.
