Very mature but amazingly it improved dramatically with 3 hours of air. What a wonderful taste and feel of honeyed nectar with a dry, minerally finish. At this point like a dry dessert wine.

What a gorgeous perfume to this wine on the nose and palate with mature flavors of peach and melon with a lively intensity and a fine, taut, mineral-driven finish. A unique and wonderful aged Loire white at La Panetiere, Rye, NY.

Consumed as part of a larger Baumard tasting (multiple Trie Speciale, Clos Papillon, Clos Ste Catherine and Quarts de Chaume vintages).
My WOTN. Words utterly fail to capture the beauty, intensity, balance, and profound nature of this bottle. It was even more profound than the same bottle I had 3 years ago, which to me ranked as the greatest white wine I had ever consumed, until this 89 Papillon with three additional years of cellaring. Among the ten tasters present, this bottle induced a quiet contemplative reverie.

Riesling tasting witth friends (@ WB): Very special (meant positive) and complex bouquet with yeasty impressions of bread and beer and also minerals and tropical fruits. Same on the palate. Extremely complex and in a perfect drinking stage now, even though it can probably last another decade.
