  • Signs of old seepage under capsule.
Peach, nice tropical fruit, citrus- lime, floral, honey, integrated sugar, good acidity. Bright. Lingering finish. Really enjoyable

  • Lovely bottle. Still fresh and nicely balanced with good levels of sweetness. Must have been pretty sweet in youth to be drinking so well and fresh 18 years on and the 8% vol backs that up.
Can’t imagine many bottles left as most Kabs are drunk relatively young but this is great and an advert for ageing Kabinett. Not gone deep gold and old yet.
    Great stuff.

  • really well balance ... a bit sweet ... clear in color, has turned a light shade of yellow since last time we drank it ... very nice, just not as deep or complex as some of the other rieslings we cellar

  • This has now evolved into a golden yellow as opposed to the water white on first arrival. There is a touch of reduced sulphur, burnt match to the nose but this does not get in the way of the gorgeous creamy honey notes that greet you. At 8% alc, this is beautifully refreshing and now a point. Palate has lovely balance, not overly full but not lacking in weight either, a dry note is creeping into the finish - I cannot decide if this is the mineral signature of the wine or if the fruit is starting to fade - either way it is currently delicious.
