Brilliant! Enjoyed with wild salmon. Notes of plums, figs and chocolat. This wine although less ethereal, perfumy and floral than Burgundy - is absolutely world class as an American Pinot.

"Wow" wines (Jason's House): Drank alongside the 2003, this was significantly better, and you could see some similarities. This wine was also silky and elegant, with no heat at all. To me, this is one of those rockstar wines with flashy fruit. There is also rich earth and cherry liqueur. I don't get a lot of complexity, but it is showy.

Wines that "wow" you (Jason's House): Drank this right after the 2003 Monogram, and "wow!" This was singing tonight (unfortunately, my only bottle). The nose was perfumed with the scent of lilacs, cherries, violets, and sweet honeysuckle. The palate was amazing, with fresh red, black and blue fruits. The flavors were bright and crisp, but well integrated. This was truly one of the better Pinots from anywhere (at least for my palate). If you admire wine with plenty of integrated fruit, this wine will disappoint you! As expensive as Monogram is, this wine is worth the money, IMO. I am looking forward to trying their 2012 in the future! Drink or hold, but in a damn good place right now!

Guy's Night Out: Wow Wines (Jason P's, St. Paul, MN): Dark black cherry red color, 4mm transitional margin. PNP, drank a glass over an hour next to the '03 version. A generous bonus bottle from Jason, the '05 certainly demonstrates the influence of vintage on aging as this is in a good place compared to the '03 which can no longer contain its alcohol. This was in fine drinking form with a loamy earth nose and dark fruits of black cherry, cassis and blackberry. The palate is lovely, full bodied, tart, black cherry, blackberry, bristly earth, tart cherry, balanced with refined tannins.

Perfect drink window for this big boy. Wonderful balance of red berry, red licorice, with uncommon depth of flavor and long extended finish.
