Definitely give this baby some air! Was so much better after an 1+ hours. Massive fruit! Banana on the nose, and then huge cherry on the palate. Started out quite bitter but smoothed out with air. Quite lovely and unique when all was said and done!

Purchased from Costco in 2009, stored in temp controlled cellar. Lots of crushed raspberry and other red fruits, subtle spice aromas up front, the wine is full of raspberry and Bing cherry fruit with cassis mixed in as well. The wine turns silky in the mid-pallete followed by a medium long finish of more red fruit where some oak spice and mineral notes fold into the profile as wel. Tannins are well integrated, the wine still has nice acid to provide freshness, overall, a very nice bottle of aged Napa cab. I have the most experience with aged Napa cab, and I would rate this wine as a success. Peaking now, wine will hold for a few years, but why wait.

Pop and pour. Menthol on the nose; on the palate, cassis, black cherry, and a bit of earthiness, with nicely balanced acidity. However, after standing open for several hours, this evolved toward simpler candied fruit, with the acid fading into the background. I suspect this is at its peak, and it may decline rapidly from here. This was my last bottle, and I'm glad I opened it now.

The cork on one bottle was a challenge and needed filter and decanting. No way past its prime. Excellent cab!
