Don't understand the prior taster's experience other than perhaps it was a bad bottle - this was fantastic - smooth, dry fruit with a long aftertaste. Did not taste hot at all. Decanted for 2 hours. Still has legs left.

This wine is a mess. 15.5% alcohol. Like drinking a weak kirsch. At first I would have guessed a typical Aussie. Day two a little better, but day three downhill. Over-extracted fruit. Perhaps better with food, but I don't even want to try. Avoid.

Our last taste almost 4 years ago. Hasn't backed off a bit. Beautiful dark garnet color. No flaws. Mild rim variation. No sediment. Very classic old world nose. Musky, earthy. Dark red fruit. Some plum. Almost an essence of a pinot even though it is a blend of grenache and syrah. No tannin. Low acid/alcohol. Medium finish. Perfectly drinkable, perhaps at peak, and plenty of bottle life left.

Wine, Browns and my 55th Birthday (My Home): Tom thought this was OTH on opening, but I think it just needed air. By the time I got to it, it was outstanding. Lots of strawberries and cherries on the nose. Firm tannins. The palate matched with a nice underlying mineral/earth base. Long finish. I tried it again at the end of the night and it was just as good.

Drinking very well right now. Smooth and elegant. Likely a few more years of peak life remain.
