Dinner with the Barolo Boyz (Officine Brera - Los Angeles CA): Rich and ripe orchard fruit with floral charm and hints of butterscotch and mint. . Comes across as fat to start, but bright and energetic through to long and harmonious finish. Kept getting better for several hours in glass.

Pernot / Méo-Camuzet Dinner with Jeanne Marie de Champs (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): Popped and poured. Surprisingly fresh with ripe orchard fruit and a hint of honeycomb. Best when first poured, but this stayed so enjoyable for 2+ hours.

Decanted for a few hours, this wine needs all the wire you can give it. Big and bold, gobs of extract. A crowd favorite tonight.

Beautiful wine. A few of us would have guessed Chablis based on the delicate nose. Very delicious.
