  • Even drier this time around and the noble rot was a little more pronounced. This came after many wines and never got a chance to air out. Good structure and i liked it quite a bit. A litle left over showed well several days later.

  • Started off tight & gained considerable wt. as it aired for about 30 min. Got better the next day. Not very sweet but with the right amount of acidity to offset it nicely. The predominant aromatics are of dried apricot and honey with hints of almond & ripe cantilopp and Jasmine flowers -there is also some boytritis in the house. What stuck me as a little odd is that the finish is rather short esp for a SGN & after all the wine did open up with air time -so I think it will continue to develop but with the short finish will it actually improve or just be different? This could work nice with Foie Gras or as an aperitif. This bottle a bit disappointing based on producer & vintage (maybe some travel shock? ) but overall a very enjoyable wine.

  • Dinner at Sawasdee with Jay & Megan. Medium gold in color, this surprisingly showed an Eiswein-like acidity but unfortunately also a cloying sweetness and was a little bitter. Dried apricots were also present in this wine that was clearly overmatched by the night's other wines. 50+11+10+7+6 = 84.
