Decanted 2hrs, With Spaghetti Bolognaise, then mature Cheddar. Really distinctive bacon fat on the nose. Still lots of fruit, with a lovely smooth mouthfeel. Fully mature, with tannins integrated, light - medium bodied. Shortish finish. Delicious.
Popped & poured. Drank over 2hrs, without food. Deep, dark colour. Nice nose of flowers and red fruits. Good acidic lift, nice cherries and raspberries on the palate. Lovely round mouthfeel with just a hint of backbone right at the finish. At its peak, I would say. Good.
Double decanted for 3hrs, light sediment in the bottle. With cheddar/bacon/apple salad. Opened as somthing lighter to go with the food, but this was a lot more full bodied than I expected. Dark colour, cherries and raspberries on the nose. Sweet attack with nice cherry/berry profile, good mid palate and medium finish. Deserved more than a salad! Try next time with duck. Good.

(Chapoutier St Joseph Deschants) There is more style here than in the Meysonniers. Black fruits on the nose. Elegant, balanced palate, rich in fruit, and with some good ripe tannins. Fleshy texture and moderate acidity. For drinking now, and enjoying.
