Pop and pour. This was a replacement bottle from the winery. As my two prior bottles of this wine/vintage were off, the winemaker actually sampled, topped off, and recorked this (and an additional bottle.) Nice Touch!! Although I'm on the tail end of a cold, some dark cherry fruit shined through a nicely tannic base. Dry and elegant, this seemed struck us as a bordeaux in style. One of the older cali merlots we've had, this is in fine shape and certainly capable of holding over another 3+ years, though I doubt it'll improve.
