Popped and poured. Yellow gold colored. Strong scent of vanilla with hints of Clove, and Honeysuckle. I like somewhat 'buttery' chardonnay's and this one qualifies - may need to check my cholesterol after this bottle! Very oily, viscous texture on the palate - the word 'glycerin' comes to mind. Nice fruits of apricot, pear with ever present vanilla, light toast and clove. Lingering finish. I enjoyed this chard, but think it could be a bit better balanced with a little less of the buttery, vanilla, heavy oak. Surprisingly, my wife, who prefers un-oaked chardonnays actually quite enjoyed this one - go figure.

Melon and meyer lemon, textured and toasty profile. Ripeness of the fruit is even and spot-on. I wish the entry was slightly brighter, as you get most of the acid on the slightly harsh back end instead. However this is less obvious on first opening, so pop and pour. Good QPR, and better than the glut of overdone chards at twice the price.
