Jordan Intro-Retro (Zoom / Chicago): Double blind. Pleasant red cherry with good earth and spice that gains intensity with time in glass. Good richness and power to the fruit with lots of spice. Precise and nicely delineated. Lots of spice and still-chewy structure in the finish. Upside from here. My #9, Group #8.

Chicago Wine Flock...Burgundy Double Blind from JW (Chicagoland IL): Tasted double blind. Mature black cherry aromas with woodsy spice and earth. Very good nose, slightly less complete on palate but still with good depth. Seemed much older than 2007, and didn't seem to have Grand Cru depth to me. I was shocked when this was unveiled, but i do not recall ever having this wine in this vintage before. 89 points tonight with little upside, if a representative bottle.

Popped and poured. This is a pale-red wine. On the nose, I get cooking meats, spice, earth, Autumnal leaves, cherry, and raw tobacco leaf. In the mouth, this is crisp, focused, and alluring, all with medium fruit that pulls through a red fruit tip on the finish. Overall, this is a complete wine — one with great energy and spectacular nose. It is very enjoyable. 93 points.
