  • Nice light Beaujolais as you would expect from Regnie. Drinking well now and I would think for the rest of 2010

  • In my quest to learn Beaujolais, the Regnie was obviously the place to start. This is light and fruity. The damn banana aroma is pretty evident throughout and never wore off. What is it that causes that in Beaujolais, native yeasts? Sure ringer for a Beaujolais blind. Even non red drinkers would enjoy this, but heavy Burgundy consumers might have a problem drinking the whole bottle. Luckily, I'm mostly a Bordeaux drinker so I had no problem. Drank with spare ribs from the slow cooker crock pot. This went very well. I can"t remember what I paid for this bottle, but it's not bad for around $14.00. On my last glass, it reminds me of a cranberry, red current Jplly Rancher with a tart finish. I really thin you could defy conventional wisdom and age this for another year or two. The tannins and acidity will certainly hold the fruit together, but it is drinking well now. A good table Beaujolais, if not simple.
