Similar to MY previous notes, was deep and rich; however did take time to decant and prepare the wine. Was musty and dusty on opening, but after about 30 minutes black currant was starting to poke through. After 1 hour, we all noticed the currant faded to blackberry and sour apple. After a full 2 hours, the wine was awake and ready. Great expression of burgundy and was enjoyed by all. Needs to be enjoyed very soon, as the bottom will fall out of this and perhaps has pasted its peak already.

Deep curant and old black fruit. Time in the bottle has done this one well. Needed time to open up after cellaring. Upfront structure and balanced tannins, was a crowd favorite in blind tasting.

The wine has a ripe nose of red cherry but also a bit of detached alcohol as well. In palate, it started with sour cherry flavour but soon turned into sweet mid-palate. Quite fruit forward and not overly complex. In summary, I think this wine is of acceptable quality. It has very good fruit flavour but slightly unbalanced with acidity, sweetness and alcohol not fully integrated. Having said so, with the price of just US$20, I think this wine offers very good value of money. It would not disappoint you as an everyday Burgundy.

couldn't get past the fact that this smelled more like a horses rear end than any wine I've ever put to my nose

Simple, and too ripe for a typical Burgundy. Cherry, and an earthy note.
