Dark dark ruby red. Blueberry, fig, and old leather nose. Dried strawberries, chocolate cherries, a touch of oregano, grippy tannins, a bit of minerality, and a medium+ finish. Interesting, good, and well worth the price.

A bit of rasin, a bit of earth, a bit of spice, a bit of complexity. At $15 I am all in on it. Good stuff and works. This seems a bit fresher and lighter then I remember it.

Drank the Matchbook in a curious line up that included a 06 Tensley syrah and 04 La Basetta. I've purchased two cases of this wine in the past because to me it's a great every day fun wine that pairs well with food. Today I liked it because the snotty wine salesboy said, "American Tempranillo? Good luck with that." Apparently he forgot that he posted a tasting note lauding the wine.
Nose reminiscent of Cote du Rhone; herbs, spice, soy - rich cherry fruit on the palate, nice acidity, pleasant tannins - no real grip. Round, plump fruit character without being jammy.
