30 minute slow ox. Still very much alive. Loads of cherry, tobacco, mushroom, earth. There’s a sweetness to the cherry that carries through playing well with the tertiary notes. We’ll stored bottles very much still in the zone.

Opened with the Hallocks over taken-out Italian. Medium red color showing just a bit of bricking. Wonderfully generous nose of sweet red cherries and flowers that just kept on going til the bottle was done. Medium bodied wine, lots of earthiness, minerality and tertiary notes--mushroom, bark, & pepper. Elegant, complex wine, still showcasing vivid red fruit with evident tannins and a slight grittiness. Very nice length. An extremely enjoyable, classically elegant & mature BdM showing very well at the present time, whose best quality may have been its nose.

This is a good example of a Brunello wine that is not big but elegant, with a tremendous aromatic expression of ripe small red fruit, with of course tertiary aromas as well. At age 15 it is fully mature and should not be kept for many more years. It was lovely with pappardelle sullo coniglio

Smells like dried herbs and flowers. Red cherry turns into dark cherry, and it kind of has a cherry pulp quality. The cherry fruit is followed by dried herbs and chocolate. This wine has a bit of rustic quality in texture and flavor. Finishes with a slight tartness and mild acidity that is pleasant and expected in a BdM. This lived up to expectations.
Beautiful with papardelle with duck ragu.

(Agostina Pieri Brunello di Montalcino) Beautiful nose of ripe black cherries, mint, savory elements, earth, burnt leaves & well water. Wonderful rich, ripe and pure fruit on the palate that is thoroughly saturating. Really sappy and mouthcoating. Great tannin integration.
